Website Marketing Plans

If you do not make website marketing plans, you will find marketing your websites that much more difficult. Without any website marketing plans, you do not have a strategy to follow and promoting your website become too random, unless you have a very good memory and do not become distracted. In order to stay focused, you must make a plan. Website marketing plans may include online and off-line strategies, which may or may not include newspaper or even TV advertising. It just depends on whom you are trying to reach.

Website Marketing Plans

You should consider whether your website marketing plans should contain off line as well as on line strategies. There are effective ways of advertising your website offline. For example, if you have an online dating agency or a baby sitting agency, you could put a card in your newsagent's window with a short description and your website address. A classified advert in the local paper can also be effective, it just depends on whom you are trying to reach.

I like to consider the offline aspects of my website marketing plans first in order to get them out of the way, then on to the online strategies.

I think that it helps to make a chart or schema of some sort when I am drawing up my website marketing plans. I have a large, hard-back exercise book with 35 lines per page. Sixteen lines from the top, I draw a line across the page and I draw another line down the middle from top to bottom.

I tend to promote two websites at a time: I write the five most important web page titles of website one starting at line two and the top five titles of website two starting at line nine.

Under the horizontal line, in the left-hand section, I make six more horizontal lines and four vertical lines, which creates 24 boxes. Four boxes horizontally represent a webpage from each website above the line.

You will notice that there is slack above the line and below it - the right-hand sections have not been used. This is where I make my website marketing plans.

I might decide that each page should have two articles written to support it. I write that down; I may decide that every other page should be sent to StumbleUpon, so I write that down opposite the relevant pages

I keep making my website marketing plans until I have a strategy that I think will be best for those two websites and then I set about putting my website marketing plans into action.

This is where having written everything down works well for me. As I complete a task, I tick the box opposite it. If I review a webpage for errors or just want to freshen it up a bit, I do that then tick it off. When all the boxes have been ticked off, you can turn the page and start on another two.

This strategy works well if you are creating websites and promoting each page as you write it. Simply write the website titles on lines two and nine and take it from there,

i said that I like to leave a few blanks here and there. They are for if I uncover something new or something I had not thought of when I was drawing up my website marketing plans, there is never any free space when I turn the page over.

having website marketing plans allows you to stop and start work and always know where you are, even weeks later, if you go on holiday. I like to have boxes to tick off, because I like to see progress and I like to know how much linger a strategy has left to run, I also get a schoolboy kick out of having lots of ticks on my work.

Writing out my website marketing plans has simplified and improved my marketing efforts.
